Pike Head

The simple LARP foam head of the Pike makes it universal for pretty much any setting or period, where metal spears were used. Due to the lower weight (the head of the Pike is 160g vs Spear’s 260g) it is more suitable for longer poles, as it doesn’t cause as much wobbling. 

If you’re mounting this polearm on a wooden pole, the ideal diameter is 30-32 mm and it can be both round and octagonal. Before mounting the head, it is necessary to shape the wood so that the rubber hose, which reinforces the tip of the spear, fits well on the peg at the tip of the pole. You can see the appropriate shape of the tip on the diagram above.

The entire surface of the portion of the shaft that is inserted into the socket has to be coated in a good quality glue.

The tip of the fiberglass core or wooden shaft has to be thoroughly rounded to prevent any edges from weakening and potentially cutting the foam from inside.

The blunt tip of the Pike has a diameter of 3 cm and the head is partially flexible for greater safety.
