Shashka - Saber

The Caucasian Shashka, a simple yet decorative foam LARP saber.

Our Shashka is inspired by the ornate sabres from the 17th and 18th centuries. These swords came to the Caucasus from Persia and Turkey and gradually became very popular among the Russian and Ukrainian Cossacks. Wielded by these warriors, the Shashka has evolved into a symbol of honor. The hilt's craftsmanship is a testament to a bygone era, where form met function in martial artistry.

The distinctive features of the shashka are the hilt without guard and a bird's beak shaped pommel. This elegant design and the curved blade allow the sabre to deliver powerful slashes. 

All blades have a 15x6 mm fiberglass rectangular core and Kevlar reinforcement in the tip. The Shashka measures 97 cm in total and weighs 520 g.
